Safety helmet? High-visibility vest? IKFace can now analyze camera video to identify these items of personal protective equipment and create an event when a configured rule confirms that one is missing. This analytics layer adds useful context to video surveillance and lets teams act within the security systems they already use.
PPE detection
From visual observation to a verifiable event
Teams can define areas of interest for each camera and specify which PPE is required. IKFace analyzes people, helmets and high-visibility vests; temporal rules help confirm an absence before an event is issued.
Event details show which item was detected, which item is missing under the rule, and the original scene image. The screenshot in this article shows a real case: helmet detected and missing vest confirmed.
Integrations
Alerts enter the existing security workflow
Depending on the connectors, mappings and policies enabled at each site, PPE events can be sent to:
Genetec Security Center
To bring the event into the customer’s configured Genetec security environment.
Nx Witness
To connect the analytics with video and events in the management system.
VIVOTEK VSS
To send the event to the camera and destination mapped in the VSS integration.
Telegram
To notify authorized recipients when the channel and event category are active.
Configuration
A rule tailored to each area
Helmet and vest requirements are configured by zone and camera. Teams can adjust thresholds, persistence time and alert destinations to match the scene and the site’s procedures.
Detection requires a sufficient view of the person and equipment. Lighting, distance, occlusion and camera angle can affect the result; each deployment needs calibration and validation with its own cameras.
The camera records the scene; IKFace analyzes it, confirms the event and communicates it to the configured security workflow.
