IKFace is preparing new ways to verify pedestrian and vehicle access: license plate recognition (LPR), QR credentials and events combining a license plate with facial recognition. The architecture can integrate with Genetec Synergis at sites already using that platform or work directly with IKFace Access, depending on the project.
Two integration paths
With Genetec Synergis or directly with IKFace Access
In a Genetec environment, IKFace can verify identity and present a credential to Synergis, which applies its own rules and makes the final access decision. This facial integration is already part of IKFace; the new modalities will be configured and validated for each scenario.
When using IKFace Access directly, authorization rules are managed in IKFace. Connections to barriers, doors and other devices depend on the integration and testing for each installation.
New modalities
The right verification for each entry point
LPR for vehicles
The recognized plate is checked against vehicle permissions; the result becomes part of the access event.
QR for pedestrians and visitors
A valid QR credential provides an alternative to facial recognition when the access flow calls for it.
LPR + facial
A combined event correlates the license plate with the authorized driver’s identity before access is evaluated.
Traceability
Events bring the relevant checks together for review and operations in one place.
Applications
Designed for demanding access points
Combining modalities can support industrial sites, data centers, logistics facilities and other locations with pedestrian and vehicle entrances. Each deployment needs defined permissions, cameras, lighting, reading distances and data retention rules.
Availability of QR, LPR and combined events will be announced after the relevant validation is complete. The image shows a possible use case and does not imply automatic barrier or door operation.
One access strategy, using Genetec Synergis or IKFace Access according to the customer’s infrastructure.
